We started from the 927,095 US-based Instagram accounts we track and kept those between 20,000 and 1,000,000 followers that name travel in their own bio. Each had to hold at least half their audience in the United States while clearing our engagement, audience quality, Reel view and recency floors. Nine were removed, and the 25 here are ranked by the CA Influence Index.
Because two people planning a trip is the format the niche rewards. Five of these 25 post as a couple or family, and the top card is a married pair whose Reels reach almost three times their following. A brief that needs a trip narrated end to end usually needs more than one person on camera.
Because most of what these accounts cover is domestic. Nine of the 25 hold more than 85 percent of their following inside the United States, and the pages that drive it are California guides, Texas guides, Raleigh, Austin and the national parks. For a tourism board that share is the whole point of the brief.
Because the index reads reach against size. The largest account here has 831,659 followers and Reels reaching four tenths of that; the top card has 795,548 and reaches almost three times its own count. On a destination brief the second number is what fills a booking page.
An account with an empty bio, a social media strategist, a comedian, a commentary account, a rescue dog, and creators whose own bio puts travel behind fashion or motherhood. One more came off automatically as an engagement outlier above 35 percent.
Every account posted within 30 days of the Sep 7, 2026 snapshot. Follower counts, engagement, Reel views and audience shares are read at that date and move week to week at this size, so re-check before a campaign.
