Follower count is closer to real reach here
59.0% of Mexican creators hold 60% or more of their audience in Mexico, the 2nd highest domestic concentration we measure. Less discounting is needed than in anglophone markets.
Mexico market study ยท 2026
Using Click Analytic's own database of 400M+ creator profiles, we counted every one of the 101,800 Mexican Instagram accounts above 10,000 followers and measured how they actually perform.
How domestic Mexican audiences really are, what engagement and view counts look like at each follower size, how fast the market is growing, and how much of it has never worked with a brand. Every figure below has its own chart, data table and source line.
This report maps the Mexican creator market on Instagram from Click Analytic's own creator database. It is not a survey, not a panel and not a sample.
We counted every Instagram account with at least 10,000 followers whose location resolves to Mexico, then measured follower size, creator gender, audience location, engagement rate, average Reel views, posting activity, follower growth and brand-deal history across all 101,800 of them. Nano accounts between 1,000 and 10,000 followers are counted separately and excluded from every total and share here.
TikTok and YouTube are not in this edition. A Mexican study on those platforms has not been run into the repository, so this page reports what was actually measured. Every cross-market comparison below is Instagram against Instagram.
Eight findings from the data, starting with the two Mexico leads the study on.
The Mexican creator market in numbers. Each finding has its own link, so a single statistic can be cited on its own.
The highest activity rate of the 10 markets measured, well ahead of Germany. A Mexican shortlist is more likely to be live than any other in this study.
The fastest of the 10 markets measured. 5,537 Mexican accounts grew by half and 2,905 doubled.
59.0% keep 60% or more, the 2nd highest domestic concentration in this study. Mexican creators are read in Mexico.
67.3% of the market shows no detected branded content. Only Colombia is less worked among the markets measured.
58,052 accounts against 43,748 run by men, the most female-skewed Instagram creator pool of the markets measured.
Plus 816,710 nano accounts, 8.0 for every one already above the line. Mexico is 4th of the 10 markets measured by Instagram base.
The median at 10K to 50K followers is around 0.8%. Mexico is 7th of 10 on engagement, below the European markets and above Colombia.
4,616 accounts, and 364 average a million, a high absolute count for the six-figure rate.
Mexico holds 101,800 Instagram accounts with 10,000 or more followers, and 816,710 more between 1,000 and 10,000. Counted together that is 918,510 accounts.
That places Mexico 4th of the 10 markets measured on Instagram, close to Spain at 108,392 and ahead of Germany at 97,105. The bench below is deep at 8.0 nano accounts for every one already above the line.
74.6% of Mexican creators sit between 10K and 50K followers, the smallest such share of the markets measured, which means Mexico's distribution is less bottom-heavy than most. 11.4% sit between 100K and 500K and 1,164 accounts have passed a million, one of the highest counts above a million in this study.
A large top end and a fast-growing bottom end at the same time is what an expanding market looks like.
| Follower size | Instagram (accounts) | Instagram (share) |
|---|---|---|
| 10K-50K | 75,937 | 74.6% |
| 50K-100K | 11,649 | 11.4% |
| 100K-500K | 11,609 | 11.4% |
| 500K-1M | 1,441 | 1.4% |
| 1M+ | 1,164 | 1.1% |
Subscribers on YouTube. Bands are exclusive and sum to the platform base.
Mexico has an unusually strong top end for its size: 1,164 accounts above a million followers. For reach-led campaigns the names exist here without going outside the country.
Next, the number that makes Mexican reach worth buying.
75.3% of Mexican Instagram creators keep at least 40% of their audience in Mexico, and 59.0% keep at least 60%.
87.7% clear a 20% domestic threshold. Mexico ranks 2nd of 10 on this measure, behind only Colombia and far ahead of the European and North American markets: Germany sits at 40.3% and Canada at 25.6%.
This is the structural advantage of the Mexican market. A Mexican creator's audience is overwhelmingly Mexican, so follower count translates into domestic reach far more directly than it does in Germany, Canada or the United Kingdom.
The audience that sits outside Mexico is largely elsewhere in Latin America and among Spanish speakers in the United States, which for many brands is additional relevant reach rather than waste.
In Mexico, follower count is close to a usable proxy for domestic reach, which is rare. That makes the other filters on this page, engagement and activity, the ones that actually separate a shortlist.
So what do those audiences do with a post?
20.5% of Mexican Instagram creators clear a 3% engagement rate, placing Mexico 7th of the 10 markets measured.
43.5% exceed 1%, 20.5% exceed 3% and 12.6% exceed 5%. The median at 10K to 50K followers is around 0.8%, around 0.56% at 50K to 250K and around 0.56% above 250K.
That is below the European markets, where France runs around 1.3% and Germany around 1.2% on the same band, and above Colombia at around 0.56%. Like Spain, Mexican engagement stops falling above 250K rather than continuing down.
Those medians come from binary search over counting queries, so each is a narrow range rather than an exact point. The data tables carry the range; the prose rounds.
| Engagement rate | Instagram (accounts) | Instagram (share) |
|---|---|---|
| 1%+ | 44,315 | 43.5% |
| 3%+ | 20,839 | 20.5% |
| 5%+ | 12,861 | 12.6% |
Engagement is calculated per platform, so a rate compares within a platform only. Thresholds are cumulative.
| Follower size | |
|---|---|
| 10K-50K followers | 0.80% (range 0.77% to 0.83%) |
| 50K-250K followers | 0.56% (range 0.53% to 0.59%) |
| 250K+ followers | 0.56% (range 0.53% to 0.59%) |
Found by binary search over counting queries, so each median is a narrow range. Round it before quoting it.
Do not carry a European engagement floor into a Mexican brief. A Mexican creator at around 0.8% is at the local median for their size, and a 3% rule rejects four fifths of the market.
And how far a Mexican Reel travels.
31.5% of Mexican Instagram creators average at least 10,000 Reel views. 4.5% average 100,000 and 364 accounts average a million.
Mexico ranks 8th of 10 on the six-figure rate, mid-table. What makes the market usable is that these views are largely domestic: with 59.0% of creators holding 60% or more of their audience in Mexico, a six-figure view count mostly means six-figure Mexican reach.
That is not true in most of the other markets in this study, and it is the reason Mexican reach is worth more per view to a domestic brand than a comparable British or Canadian number.
| Average views per video | Instagram (accounts) | Instagram (share) |
|---|---|---|
| 10K+ | 32,096 | 31.5% |
| 100K+ | 4,616 | 4.5% |
| 1M+ | 364 | 0.4% |
Reels on Instagram, videos on TikTok and YouTube. Thresholds are cumulative.
Compare Mexican creators on cost per thousand views rather than on followers, and do not discount the number for audience leakage the way you would in an anglophone market.
A view only counts if the account is still posting, and Mexico leads on that too.
67.5% of Mexican Instagram accounts posted in the last 30 days and 11.6% grew by at least 20% over six months. Both are the highest of the 10 markets measured.
33,059 Mexican accounts have gone quiet for a month or more, which is a smaller share than anywhere else in this study and well above the global Creator Economy Report figure of 55.9% active.
5,537 Mexican accounts grew their following by half or more in six months and 2,905 doubled. Against Sweden at 6.6% above the 20% threshold, Mexico is expanding roughly twice as fast.
High activity and high growth together describe a market where new names arrive continuously, which is a different planning problem from a mature one: the shortlist that was right six months ago is out of date.
| Platform | Posted in the last 30 days | Share of the platform base | Did not post |
|---|---|---|---|
| 68,741 | 67.5% | 33,059 |
Activity is measured from the most recent post we hold for the account.
| Follower growth, six months | Instagram (accounts) | Instagram (share) |
|---|---|---|
| +20% | 11,759 | 11.6% |
| +50% | 5,537 | 5.4% |
| +100% | 2,905 | 2.9% |
Thresholds are cumulative: an account that grew 100% is also counted at 50% and 20%.
Rebuild Mexican shortlists more often than European ones. At this growth rate, a list built two quarters ago has missed the creators who have arrived since.
And the commercial question, where Mexico is wide open.
32.7% of Mexican Instagram creators have run branded content, which leaves 68,476 accounts with no detected brand history at all.
Mexico ranks 9th of 10 on brand-deal history, ahead only of Colombia and above the global Creator Economy Report figure of 28.8% by a small margin. Compared with Sweden at 48.8% or the United Kingdom at 48.3%, this is a lightly worked market.
Put that next to the activity and growth numbers and Mexico is the clearest early-mover case in this study after France: creators who publish constantly, audiences who are actually Mexican, and two thirds of the market with no detected sponsor.
Undisclosed and gifted collaborations are not captured by this measurement, so read the brand-deal figure as a floor rather than a census.
| Platform | Has run branded content | Share of the platform base | No branded content detected |
|---|---|---|---|
| 33,324 | 32.7% | 68,476 |
At least one detected sponsored or branded post. Undisclosed or gifted collaborations are not captured.
First-time partners need a fuller brief and more hand-holding. In a market where 67.3% have never run a deal, that overhead is the price of an uncontested shortlist.
Every figure above, side by side, in one table.
57.0% of Mexican Instagram creators above 10,000 followers are women, the most female-skewed creator pool of the markets measured.
58,052 accounts are run by women and 43,748 by men. Colombia is close behind on the same measure, and the European markets sit several points nearer to even.
Creator gender is inferred from the profile. Accounts with no identifiable individual creator, such as brands, shops and media outlets, are outside the measured population rather than counted separately. Audience gender was not published in this study: the filter behind it is unsupported in the measurement API.
| Platform | Women | Share | Men | Share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 58,052 | 57.0% | 43,748 | 43.0% |
Gender is inferred from the profile. Accounts with no identifiable individual creator are outside the base filter entirely.
Creator gender is not audience gender. A market that is nearly three fifths women behind the camera tells you nothing about who is watching, so filter on audience composition directly.
Numbers mean little until you know whether they are high or low.

Next, Mexico against the global market.
We compared these Mexican figures against Click Analytic's Creator Economy Report 2026, a separate study of 23.6M creator accounts across 25 markets, snapshot the whole of 2025.
Activity is where Mexico is furthest ahead of the world: 67.5% of Mexican Instagram accounts posted in the last month against 55.9% globally. Engagement is level with the global benchmark, at a median of around 0.8% at 10K to 50K followers against a global 0.80%.
Brand-deal history runs 32.7% against 28.8% globally, which is close to the world average and well below the northern European markets. In a market this active and this domestic, that gap is the opportunity.
| Metric | Mexico | Global |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram median engagement rate, 10K-50K followers | 0.80% | 0.8% |
| Instagram creators with previous branded content | 32.7% | 28.8% |
| Instagram creators who posted in the last 30 days | 67.5% | 55.9% |
Global figures: Click Analytic Creator Economy Report 2026, a study of 23.6M creator accounts across 25 markets, snapshot the whole of 2025. A metric with no comparable global figure is left out rather than estimated.
The global benchmark understates Mexican activity badly and describes Mexican engagement accurately. Use it for engagement; ignore it for activity.
Here is what that changes about planning a Mexican campaign.
Six rules for planning influencer campaigns in Mexico, each grounded in a figure above.
59.0% of Mexican creators hold 60% or more of their audience in Mexico, the 2nd highest domestic concentration we measure. Less discounting is needed than in anglophone markets.
11.6% of Mexican creators grew by a fifth in six months, the fastest in this study. A list from two quarters ago is missing the new arrivals.
The median is around 0.8% at 10K to 50K followers and 20.5% clear 3%. A European floor rejects most of a good Mexican shortlist.
68,476 Mexican accounts have no detected brand history, 67.3% of the market.
1,164 Mexican accounts have passed a million followers, one of the highest counts in this study. Reach-led plans do not need to leave the country.
Mexico has the highest activity rate we measure, and 33,059 accounts have still not posted in 30 days.
Want to see the creators behind these numbers?
Every metric on this page is a filter in Click Analytic: audience location, engagement against the benchmarks above, average views, posting activity and brand history.
Every number on this page comes from live creator profiles. Here they are, ranked and filterable.
Every figure on this page is the exact number of accounts returned by one counting query against the Click Analytic creator database. Medians were found by binary search over the same queries, so each is a narrow range that we publish rounded.
Still have questions? Most of them are answered below.
Click Analytic counts 101,800 Instagram accounts with 10,000 or more followers located in Mexico, measured in September 2026. Adding nano creators between 1,000 and 10,000 followers brings the total to 918,510 accounts.
The median is around 0.8% at 10K to 50K followers, around 0.56% at 50K to 250K and around 0.56% above 250K. 20.5% of Mexican creators clear 3%, which makes a flat 3% rule a very strict filter here.
More than in most markets. 75.3% of Mexican creators keep at least 40% of their audience in Mexico and 59.0% keep at least 60%, the 2nd highest domestic concentration of the 10 markets measured.
It is the fastest growing market we measure. 11.6% of Mexican creators grew their following by at least 20% over six months, 5,537 grew by half and 2,905 doubled.
33,324 accounts, 32.7% of the market, show at least one detected branded post. That leaves 68,476 Mexican creators with no detected brand history at all.
Women, more than in any other market measured. 57.0% of Mexican Instagram creators above 10,000 followers are women, 58,052 accounts against 43,748 run by men.
Each figure is the exact result count of a query against Click Analytic's database of 400M+ creator profiles, not a survey and not a sample. Instagram was measured in September 2026. Medians come from binary search over counting queries and are published rounded.
