TikTok Shop Statistics: What the Numbers Show in 2026

Denis GolubevBy Denis GolubevNews & updates

Quick answer

TikTok Shop's global GMV reached an estimated $50.3 billion in the first half of 2026, up 92% year on year, with $11.8 billion of that in the United States, according to research published by Momentum Works and Tabcut on 6 August 2026. Full-year 2025 was an estimated $64.3 billion globally and $15.1 billion in the United States. TikTok does not publish full TikTok Shop financials, so almost every total is an outside estimate, and researchers disagree. Every figure below carries its market, its period, its source, its publication date and a status label.

Every figure on this page carries its market, period, source and status.

The headline numbers

Three figures describe TikTok Shop's current scale. Each one carries a different kind of authority, and the difference matters more than the numbers.

TikTok does not publish full TikTok Shop financials. Almost every widely quoted GMV number, including the first two above, is an outside estimate, and estimates from different researchers do not agree with each other.

Where 2026 stands so far

The first half of 2026 is the freshest complete period on record. Momentum Works and Tabcut published it on 6 August 2026, and it is an estimate in exactly the way the 2025 totals are.

Two forward-looking numbers travel with those, and they are a different kind of claim. Momentum Works states on its own site that TikTok Shop is on track to surpass $100 billion globally for the full year. Tubefilter, reporting on 6 August 2026, put a specific Momentum Works projection at $123.5 billion for 2026. A projection is not a measurement. Quote it as a forecast, with the forecaster's name and the date the forecast was made, or leave it out.

How to read these numbers before you quote them

Every figure on this page is labelled as exactly one of four things. Check the label before you put a number in a deck.

  • Reported by TikTok. Taken from an official TikTok announcement or document, with its date.
  • Independent research estimate. Published by a named third party on a named date, and explicitly not a TikTok disclosure.
  • Click Analytic modelled estimate. Our own figure, produced from our own TikTok Shop coverage, with its market and period stated.
  • Independent research forecast. A named third party's projection of a period that has not finished, with the date the projection was made. A forecast is not a measurement.

One definitional caveat applies to every GMV figure here. TikTok's own Shop Analytics documentation, updated on 12 November 2025, calculates GMV as list price multiplied by items sold, plus shipping, minus discounts and tax, and states that it includes cancelled and refunded orders. GMV is a measure of activity, not of income. The full breakdown is in what GMV means on TikTok Shop.

GMV by market

Full-year 2025 is the last complete year. The first half of 2026 is the last complete half. Both are below, and a half-year total should never be set against a full-year one.

The order surprises people who follow the United States coverage. Southeast Asia was the larger region in aggregate through 2025, and by a wide margin. Among single markets, Momentum Works reported that the United States overtook Indonesia in the first half of 2026 to take the top position back, so it did not hold it through 2025.

The same research counted 16 markets during 2025. The footprint has grown since, so a 2025 total and a 2026 market list should not be combined into one sentence.

Why the estimates disagree, and which one to quote

Two respected research houses measure the same market and publish different numbers. Neither is wrong. They are counting different things over different definitions, and the gap between them is the most useful thing on this page.

The same metrics, measured by different researchers

Three things explain most of the gap. The first is the metric. Momentum Works counts GMV, which keeps cancelled and refunded orders inside it. eMarketer forecasts retail ecommerce sales, a narrower measure that does not. For 2025 the two dollar totals land close together, $15.1 billion against $15.82 billion, and that proximity is coincidence rather than agreement.

The second is the base year. Two growth rates for the same market and the same year, 68% and 108%, cannot both describe the same starting point. Momentum Works puts 2024 at $9 billion. eMarketer's own 2025 total and growth rate imply a 2024 base closer to $7.6 billion. Growth rates are the least portable statistic on this page, and the one most often lifted alone.

The third is scope drift in the retelling. Momentum Works published the 2026 surface split as a United States figure and said so plainly, contrasting the United States with China and Southeast Asia. At least one national outlet reported that same split against the global total. Nobody invented anything. A market label fell off in transit. If you are quoting a share, check the market it was measured in before you check the number itself.

So: quote one source, name it, date it, and carry its market and period with it. Never average two estimates. Never pair one researcher's total with another's growth rate. If a figure reaches you without a publisher and a publication date attached, it is not yet a statistic.

One habit is worth adding to that. A global 2025 total a little above the Momentum Works estimate circulates widely across statistics roundups. We could not trace it to a named publisher on a named date, so it does not appear on this page as a figure. Numbers that survive only by being copied are not evidence.

Where the sales actually happen

The surface mix is the statistic most often quoted without its market and period, and it moves fast enough that the omission matters. Both sets of figures below are United States, from the same research house, one year apart.

SurfaceShare of US GMVNote
Shoppable video50%Largest single surface in 2025
Shop tab and product cards36%Commercial intent, no new content required
LIVE14%Up from 10% in 2024
United States GMV by surface, full-year 2025, independent research estimates

A year later the order had inverted. The Shop tab rose from 36% to 51.4% of United States attributed GMV, shoppable video fell to 40.4%, and LIVE did not carry on upward from 14%, it fell to 8.2%. Momentum Works framed this as the United States diverging from China and Southeast Asia, where LIVE carries a much larger share of platform GMV.

SurfaceShare of US attributed GMVChange from full-year 2025
Shop tab and product cards51.4%Up from 36%
Shoppable video40.4%Down from 50%
LIVE8.2%Down from 14%
United States GMV by surface, first half of 2026, independent research estimates

For anyone recruiting creators, the reordering is the practical finding. A creator whose record is built on evergreen product cards is a different proposition from one who sells in scheduled LIVE sessions, even at the same total. Note also what the two tables share: one research house, one market, two periods, and a mix that moved far enough in twelve months to reverse the ranking. Surface splits travel across neither markets nor years.

This split is not only a research construct. TikTok reports the same three surfaces to sellers, breaking revenue into LIVE GMV, Video GMV and Product Card GMV in its own Shop Analytics.

Sellers and creators

The same 2025 research counted 803,500 stores and 15.4 million influencers in the United States, and both numbers need their tail explained before they are useful.

  • More than half of the counted stores recorded no sales at all. Store count is not seller count in any commercial sense.
  • More than 2,000 stores passed $1 million in GMV. That is the population a serious benchmark should be drawn from.
  • 15.4 million influencers is a participation figure, not a supply of creators with relevant commerce history in a given category and market.

On the seller side, TikTok has stated its own number for one region: more than 100,000 European sellers, in its May 2026 expansion announcement. That figure is reported by TikTok rather than modelled.

Shoppers

Shopper-level statistics are where this subject gets least reliable. Order values and conversion rates circulate as round numbers with no publisher attached, and they contradict each other by more than a factor of two. What follows is what we could trace to a named research house on a named date.

  • 9% of United States households bought something on TikTok Shop in the twelve months to February 2026, and sales over that period rose 84%. NielsenIQ, reported by eMarketer on 27 April 2026.
  • The average United States customer spent $118 across the year and made three to four purchases. eMarketer, 27 April 2026.
  • 36.5 million Americans aged 25 to 34 visited TikTok in May 2026, against 24.5 million aged 18 to 24. Comscore, reported by What's Trending on 12 August 2026.
  • 47% of users aged 25 to 44 went on to buy something they first heard about on the platform, the highest rate of any age group. Edison Research, reported by What's Trending on 12 August 2026.

There is no average order value on this page. The $118 a year and the three to four purchases imply somewhere around $30 to $39 an order, but that is arithmetic on two published numbers, not a published order value. The order values quoted elsewhere, and several are in wide circulation, could not be traced past statistics roundups citing one another. Widely quoted is not the same as sourced, so they are not here.

The age skew is the finding worth acting on. The buying is not concentrated where the attention is.

Categories

Category mix tells a brand whether TikTok Shop is a natural fit or a fight.

  • Leading categories in 2025: Beauty and Personal Care, Womenswear and Underwear, Sports and Outdoors.
  • Fastest-growing in 2025: Kids' Fashion, Baby and Maternity, and Muslim Fashion.

Both lists come from the same independent 2025 research. The growth list is the more useful one for anyone choosing where to launch, because the leading categories are also the most saturated with competing creator content.

Europe is the newest growth surface

TikTok added Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland on 15 June 2026, joining France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. In the announcement published on 28 May 2026, TikTok stated 200 million monthly European users, more than 100,000 European sellers, and triple-digit growth in daily GMV between August 2025 and February 2026.

That growth rate is a TikTok-reported figure without a stated base, so it describes direction rather than size. It is still the clearest official signal available about where the platform is putting its weight.

What Click Analytic's own data shows

The following two figures are Click Analytic modelled estimates. They are not TikTok disclosures and they are not third-party market research. They come from our own TikTok Shop coverage and they carry the same limits as any modelled figure.

  • Creators sold more than $6 billion through TikTok Shop in the United States over the 2025 calendar year. Click Analytic modelled estimate.
  • Roughly 42% of United States TikTok Shop sales over the 2025 calendar year were driven by creator content. Click Analytic modelled estimate.

Read next to the independent 2025 United States total of $15.1 billion, those two estimates are consistent with each other rather than independent of each other, since one is close to the other multiplied by the share. Treat them as one view of the same thing, not as two corroborating sources.

Our coverage spans 15 TikTok Shop markets, which is fewer than the number of markets TikTok operates in. Anything outside covered markets is absent from our estimates rather than reported as zero, and figures are estimates rather than settled revenue.

Methodology and limits

Four limits apply to everything above, and to any TikTok Shop statistic you read anywhere else.

  1. TikTok does not publish full TikTok Shop financials, so market totals are modelled by outside parties using different methods and different coverage.
  2. GMV keeps cancelled and refunded orders inside it, so no GMV figure describes money received by sellers or creators.
  3. Currency, period and market must travel with every figure. A 2025 full-year total and a 2026 market list describe different worlds.
  4. Coverage differs between sources. A figure absent from a dataset is missing, not zero.

How to use these numbers

Market statistics set expectations. They do not choose a market, a category or a creator for you.

  1. Use the market totals to size the opportunity, then work at category level, where the mix actually differs.
  2. Use the surface split to decide whether you are recruiting for shoppable video, LIVE or evergreen product cards.
  3. Use the store tail as a warning against benchmarking yourself against a platform average.
  4. Move from market figures to creator-level evidence before spending anything.

Sources and verification

Full-year 2025 market, surface, store, creator and category figures come from independent research published on 11 February 2026, which states that its numbers are its own estimates rather than TikTok disclosures. European user, seller, growth and market-launch figures come from TikTok's announcement of 28 May 2026. The GMV definition comes from TikTok's Seller Center documentation, updated on 12 November 2025.

First-half 2026 figures come from the same research house with Tabcut, published on 6 August 2026. The $123.5 billion full-year projection was reported by Tubefilter on 6 August 2026. United States retail ecommerce sales and the 2026 growth forecast come from eMarketer, published on 9 December 2025 and 27 April 2026, the second of which also carries the NielsenIQ household and growth figures. Shopper age data comes from Comscore and Edison Research, as reported on 12 August 2026. Amazon's full-year 2025 net sales come from Amazon's own results.

Sources were retrieved and every figure verified against them in August 2026. The page is reviewed quarterly, with the next scheduled review in November 2026. For the mechanics behind these numbers, read how TikTok Shop works. For the seller side, read how to sell on TikTok Shop.

Common questions

Independent research published on 11 February 2026 estimated $64.3 billion of global GMV for full-year 2025, up 94% year on year across 16 markets. TikTok does not publish full TikTok Shop financials, so that figure is an outside estimate rather than a company disclosure, and estimates from different researchers do not agree.
Southeast Asia is larger in aggregate. The same 2025 research estimated $45.6 billion across Southeast Asia against $15.1 billion in the United States, both full-year 2025 independent research estimates. Among single markets, Momentum Works reported on 6 August 2026 that the United States overtook Indonesia in the first half of 2026 to become the largest again.
For the United States in 2025, independent research estimated 14% of GMV from LIVE, up from 10% in 2024, with shoppable video at 50% and the Shop tab and product cards at 36%. That trend then reversed. For the first half of 2026, Momentum Works and Tabcut put United States LIVE at 8.2%, the Shop tab at 51.4% and shoppable video at 40.4%. TikTok reports the same three surfaces separately to sellers in its own Shop Analytics.
No. TikTok releases selective figures in announcements, such as 200 million monthly European users and more than 100,000 European sellers in May 2026, but it does not publish full TikTok Shop financials. Any market-level GMV total you see is modelled by a third party.
Click Analytic's own modelled estimate is that roughly 42% of United States TikTok Shop sales over the 2025 calendar year were driven by creator content, and that creators sold more than $6 billion through TikTok Shop in the United States over the same period. Both are Click Analytic modelled estimates rather than TikTok-reported or independently audited figures.
TikTok Shop's global GMV reached an estimated $50.3 billion in the first half of 2026, up 92% year on year, with $11.8 billion of that in the United States, according to Momentum Works and Tabcut on 6 August 2026. Momentum Works states the platform is on track to surpass $100 billion globally for the full year, and a projection of $123.5 billion for 2026 was attributed to Momentum Works by Tubefilter on 6 August 2026. GMV is not revenue, and any full-year 2026 number is a forecast rather than a measurement.
There is no average order value we can trace to a named publisher. eMarketer reported on 27 April 2026 that the average United States TikTok Shop customer spent $118 across the year and made three to four purchases, which works out at roughly $30 to $39 an order as arithmetic on those two figures rather than as a published order value. The specific order values quoted across statistics roundups could not be traced to a primary publisher on a named date, and they disagree with each other by more than a factor of two, so this page does not print them.
No, and not by a small margin. TikTok Shop's global GMV was an estimated $50.3 billion for the first half of 2026, per Momentum Works and Tabcut on 6 August 2026. Amazon reported net sales of $716.9 billion for full-year 2025 in its own results, which is a company-reported figure rather than an estimate. The two are not the same measure. GMV counts the value of goods sold, including cancelled and refunded orders, while Amazon's net sales exclude the merchandise value of third-party seller orders. Amazon GMV estimates, such as the roughly $200 billion per quarter cited by Tubefilter on 6 August 2026, are third-party estimates too, because Amazon does not publish GMV either.
