Who is Chelsea Laufer?

Chelsea Laufer is a Canadian visual-effects creator who posts as Queen Chelsea on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. All three bios open with the same line, I like making impossible things, and the videos do that: she jumps into a coffee mug, climbs a hallway wall, then shows how each shot was built.

From Hamilton, Ontario, to Toronto, with a film degree from NYU

She is from Hamilton, Ontario, and lives in Toronto, which her Instagram and TikTok bios name beside a Canadian flag. She earned a bachelor's degree in film and television production at NYU, graduating in 2020, and then worked on contract in editorial for animation, on the pre-production side.

Effects videos from November 2021, full time from October 2023

She started posting effects videos in November 2021, while still in that job, and her first to pass a million views, a clip of dancing shoes, came six or seven months in. Jumping into my morning coffee, posted in February 2023, passed 21.5 million views within a month. When her editorial contract ended in October 2023 she went full time, and her own recap of that year lists joining the talent agency Viral Nation and brand trips to Munich and Austin, Texas.

An impossible shot first, the breakdown days later

Most ideas run twice: the effect, then a behind-the-scenes cut days or weeks later that shows how it was made. She works in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro and also uses Blender, and in 2024 she put a single video at 10 to 40 hours of work. In May 2026 she brought back Follower Friday, in which followers suggest a scene in the comments and she films it, from being sucked into a genie lamp to a spin that turns her into a tornado.

Adobe, Samsung and a panel at SXSW London

Her sponsored posts since July 2023 include Adobe, Samsung, CeraVe, Prime Video and Lenovo, and most of them build the product into an effect: CeraVe became a foam party in August 2025, and an Adobe partnership post of August 2024 shows how she propelled herself into the sky. On 4 June 2026 she spoke at SXSW London, the festival's London edition, on the panel Hollywood VFX, Indie Budgets: How Creators Keep Control with AI.

Brands Chelsea Laufer has worked with

The sponsored posts on Chelsea Laufer's Instagram and TikTok that this section covers run from July 2023 to August 2026 and span software, phones, skincare, snacks, insurance, cars, streaming and a video game. This section names the brands, compares sponsored likes with her averages, and sets both against where her audience lives.

On Instagram, the 18 sponsored posts we can see start with Prime Video Canada in July 2023 and end with a Govee lights video in June 2026. Adobe accounts for three of them, in 2023 and 2024, including a Photoshop experiment after its MAX conference; Samsung covers the Galaxy S24 Ultra and S24+ in 2024 and Climate Week in September 2025; CeraVe comes in December 2023 and August 2025. Lenovo hosted her at its Tech World event in Austin, Texas, and she filmed at a MINI event in Munich, both in 2023.

On TikTok, the 14 sponsored videos we can see run from September 2024 to August 2026. Two Goldfish contest videos in September 2024 were, by their own rules, open only to Canadian residents of the age of majority. The rest cover Sephora Canada, a VFX commercial for the ASUS ROG Ally X, three videos for the insurer belairdirect, CeraVe, 5 Gum, Samsung, OREO Cakesters, Where Winds Meet, a role-playing game published by NetEase Games, Govee and, on 27 August 2026, the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE.

On TikTok the 14 sponsored videos average 14,036 likes against an account average of 9,664, but two videos carry that figure, Samsung's Climate Week at 76,200 likes and Where Winds Meet at 76,000. Eleven of the 14 sit below 9,664, and the other 12 average 3,692. The four from 2026 average 24,588, which rests on Where Winds Meet; the other three average 7,450. On Instagram the 18 sponsored posts average 7,498 likes against her September 2026 average of 3,451, but 13 of them date from 2023 and 2024, and the only one from 2026, for Govee, took 1,457.

The Samsung video, posted on both accounts on 23 September 2025, leads the sponsored posts on each: 76,200 likes and 25,200,000 views on TikTok, and 32,498 likes on Instagram. Views and likes do not always travel together: the OREO Cakesters video of January 2026 has 12,300,000 TikTok views but 6,057 likes, one like for every 2,031 views, against one for every 106 on her average video.

Many of these captions tag Canadian brand accounts, @samsungcanada, @cerave_canada, @goldfishcanada, @sephoracanada and @primevideoca among them, yet Canada is 2.1% of her Instagram audience and 2.7% of her TikTok audience. On Instagram that puts about 18,200 followers in Canada against about 170,700 in the United States. Her Instagram audience's own brand affinities rank Walt Disney, Apple, Starbucks, DC Entertainment and Marvel Entertainment first, with Netflix and Canon also in the top ten.

On YouTube, a December 2023 transition video tagged #ceravepartner has 1,869,375 views, and the July 2026 thread tutorial carries an affiliate link to Motion Array in its description.

Instagram, @queenchelseavfx, is the largest of her three accounts, with 853,350 followers and 203 posts when measured in September 2026, and it is not verified. Its posts swing from about 1,300 likes to more than 500,000 within a few months, and that swing is what a brief for her has to plan around.

On Instagram, 0.40% engagement comes from an average of 3,451 likes and 60 comments a post, so comments arrive at one for every 58 likes. Her Reels are watched far more than they are liked: they average 189,644 views, about 55 times the like average and 22.2% of her following.

Her ten latest posts, from 13 April to 1 August 2026, show the gap. Six drew between 1,306 and 3,709 likes. Two drew 400,916 and 529,350: Shattering expectations in April, a mirror-shattering effect, and How I turned into Spider-Man (kinda) in July. The two in between, at 23,848 and 34,319, are her #spidermanchallenge clip and the breakdown of the mirror video.

Her top posts on Instagram run from 2023 to 2026. The icicle post of January 2024, captioned world's longest icicle?, leads them with 7,472,859 likes and 282,820,542 views. A bit of a rocky journey, a cliff climb from February 2024, has 125,424,644 views, and Jumping into my morning coffee from February 2023 has 1,539,969 likes. The newest among them is the July 2026 Spider-Man breakdown.

The follower count held almost still over six months: 858,827 in March 2026, a peak of 860,584 in May and 853,350 in September, 5,477 fewer than in March, a dip of 0.6%. Average likes moved the other way, from 1,412 in March to 3,451 in September, across the months of the mirror and Spider-Man posts.

For a sponsor, the planning figures are the ordinary post, about 3,500 likes and 190,000 Reel views, and the credibility reading taken the same month, which puts 37.7% of the following outside the screen. Two of her ten latest posts went far past that level, and no brief can pick in advance which ones will.

TikTok, @queenchelsea, is where her coffee-mug video broke out in February 2023. The account opened in December 2019, almost two years before she began posting effects, and held 711,500 followers across 229 videos when measured in September 2026. It is not verified, and its bio adds her Instagram handle and a Facebook page under the name Queen Chelsea.

On TikTok she averages 1,026,950 views a video, and the 9,664 likes and 216 comments behind her 3.94% engagement are 2.8 and 3.6 times her Instagram averages. The view average equals 144.3% of the follower count, but a few hits lift it: six of her ten latest videos stayed below 711,500 views. Likes come at one for every 106 views.

Five videos hold 23,600,000 of the 34,100,000 likes the account has collected, 69.2%. The icicle clip of January 2024, captioned Meanwhile in canada…, has 15,600,000 of them, 45.7% of the total, and 221,200,000 views. Eight days later she posted a reveal filmed on the same snowy set, captioned I accidentally tricked half the internet…, which has 27,300,000 views and 1,300,000 likes. The other three are the coffee video, with 3,000,000 likes and 35,600,000 views, its behind-the-scenes follow-up, with 2,000,000 likes, and the #spidermanchallenge entry, with 1,700,000. A March 2025 cartoon-style video posted as a reply to a follower's comment has 57,600,000 views.

Her ten latest videos, from 4 May to 27 August 2026, range from 65,000 to 20,000,000 views. The top of that range is Grippy socks working overtime, her #spidermanchallenge entry of 1 July; its breakdown followed on 14 July with 9,100,000 views, while a longer cut posted two days after the original drew 65,000. Four of the ten, posted between 22 and 30 May, set up or answer Follower Friday ideas and drew between 90,800 and 553,900 views.

The account grew while her other two held still. Followers rose from 688,830 in March 2026 to 711,500 in September, a gain of 22,670 or 3.3%, and average views climbed from 46,101 to 1,026,950 over the same months, with the largest monthly step from June to July, when the Spider-Man challenge went up.

Her TikTok followers, measured in September 2026, are 56.1% women where Instagram's are 48.1%, and more than half, 51.7%, are 18 to 24, against 34.4% on Instagram; 6.8%, about 48,700 accounts, are 13 to 17. Among countries, the United States leads at 18.1%, then the Philippines at 7.0%, Nigeria at 5.9% and South Africa at 3.8%, with Canada fifth at 2.7%. English is the language of 65.6% of them and French of 8.0%.

Her YouTube channel, @queenchelseavfx, opened in October 2015, six years before her first effects videos, and now carries her short effects clips and the longer tutorials her other accounts point to. When measured in September 2026 it had 630,000 subscribers, the smallest of her three followings, and 195 videos.

Her uploads average 8,331 views, which is 1.3% of the 630,000 subscribers, along with 143 likes and 8 comments; engagement sits at 1.96%. Her ten latest uploads, from 26 March to 14 July 2026, drew between 752 and 14,231 views, the highest being Shattering expectations, the April mirror effect.

One video holds most of the channel's views. A glitch in the simulation?, from February 2024, has 336,014,880 views and 3,387,516 likes, 65.7% of the 511,224,137 views the channel has collected. Next come I tricked the internet… and it went viral, the January 2024 reveal from the snowy set, at 25,999,459 views, and How I created this art illusion, from June 2024, at 21,643,354. Sway, from May 2022, carries a description calling it her most viral effects transition, and has 15,207,349 views.

The channel is also where the long versions live. On 4 July 2026 she posted an intermediate After Effects tutorial recreating the floating-thread effect from The Cure, by the singer Olivia Rodrigo, with chapters on tracking, the puppet tool and wave warp. It drew 752 views and 11 comments, and its description carries an affiliate link to Motion Array. A Spider-Man trick tutorial followed on 14 July at 4,651 views.

Subscribers slipped from 636,000 in March 2026 to 630,000 in September, while lifetime views rose by 967,819 over the same months. For a brand, the value is the tutorials and the back catalogue rather than fresh reach, since those six months added 0.2% to the channel's lifetime views. Its audience, measured in September 2026, is the oldest of her three, 48.7% aged 25 to 34 and 21.2% aged 35 to 44, and India holds 17.3% of it, close behind the United States at 17.5%.

Chelsea Laufer's Instagram audience, measured in September 2026, is spread across the world and split almost down the middle between men and women, and Canada, where she lives, is only ninth among its countries.

51.9% men and 48.1% women, most of them 18 to 34

The split is 51.9% men and 48.1% women, so a product aimed at either reaches about half of the following, roughly 442,500 men or 410,800 women. 43.9% are 25 to 34 and 34.4% are 18 to 24, together 78.2%, and 17.1% are 35 or older. Teenagers aged 13 to 17 make up 4.7%, about 40,000 accounts, a share that matters for any alcohol or gambling brief.

The United States leads with 20.0%, and Canada is ninth at 2.1%

The United States holds 20.0% of the audience, about 170,700 accounts, followed by Brazil at 8.5%, India at 8.4%, Mexico at 4.1% and Nigeria at 4.0%. Those five add up to 45.1%, so more than half sits in other countries. Canada is ninth at 2.1%, about 18,200 accounts. Half the audience, 50.1%, uses English; Spanish follows at 15.9%, Portuguese at 9.8% and Arabic at 7.7%.

37.7% of the Instagram following fails the credibility screen

A credibility reading of 62.3% on Instagram leaves 37.7% of her 853,350 followers outside the screen, about 321,700 accounts. The follower-type breakdown is a different measure and splits the same following four ways: real accounts 51.2% (about 437,200), mass followers 32.5% (about 277,600), suspicious accounts 14.8% (about 126,700) and other influencers 1.4% (about 11,800). Her TikTok and YouTube accounts carry no credibility score.

Camera, art and film lead her followers' interests

The interests measured for her Instagram followers lead with camera and photography at 34.6%, art and design at 32.6% and television and film at 30.6%, the three categories closest to what she makes. Clothing and accessories follow at 30.0%, 4.6 points behind the top, and restaurants and food at 28.2%. A camera, editing-software or streaming brief finds its own category at the head of that list.

Methodology

How we analyse creators

Every figure on this page is drawn from Click Analytic platform data and verified public sources, assessed across six signal categories.

Reach & relevance

Followers on every platform the creator actually runs, weighted by how much of that audience sits in your target market. A big number in the wrong country is reach you cannot buy, so the weighting comes first.

Audience profile

Age brackets, gender split, top countries and languages of the people who really see the posts. This is the part that decides whether a creator fits a brief, and it is measured on the account, not guessed from the content.

Engagement signals

Average likes, comments and views on recent posts, compared with creators of the same follower size on the same platform. The comparison matters more than the raw rate: a 2% rate can be strong at 2M followers and weak at 20K.

Audience quality

The share of followers that look like real people versus suspicious, inactive or mass-following accounts, scored 0 to 100 with fake-follower detection on every profile. It is the number that tells you how much of the reach is actually there.

Activity & consistency

Posting cadence over the last weeks and follower growth over 30 days. An account that has gone quiet or is shedding followers performs differently from one that is live and climbing, whatever its size.

Commercial readiness

Sponsored-post history, the brands already mentioned, category fit for your industry and an estimated cost per post. Together they say whether the creator is used to working with brands and roughly what a collaboration costs.
