Answers on how the Monterrey field was measured, what the index weighs and who was removed.
We started from the 101,800 Mexico-based Instagram accounts we track and kept the Monterrey creators between 20,000 and 200,000 followers who hold at least 15 percent of their audience inside the city while clearing our engagement, audience quality, Reel view and recency floors. Five organisations were removed, and the 25 published are ranked on the CA Influence Index.
Because a city is a smaller place. Here the Monterrey share runs from 16 to 45 percent, where a national page routinely shows 70 or 80 percent for the country. The index knows the difference: on a city page full marks arrive at 30 percent inside the city, so a creator with 40 percent of their audience in Monterrey scores full marks on fit.
Because size is not the measure here. Victor Rodriguez has 191,000 followers and 16 percent of them are in Monterrey; Ray Monsivais has 60,000 and Reels reaching more than six times his following. The index ranks the second first, and a brand buying attention in the city would too.
A waste-management company, the official English-language account of a football club, a downtown nightclub, a city news feed and a festival account. Every one of them clears the screen on followers, engagement and audience, and none is a person a brand can brief.
Deeper than most Mexican cities on our data: many accounts clear this screen, though only a small share of the creators in the size band who live there. That means a list of 25 is genuinely selective here rather than most of what exists.
Every account posted within 30 days of the Sep 6, 2026 snapshot. Follower counts, engagement, Reel views and audience shares are read at that date and move week to week at this size, so re-check before a campaign.
