ChelseaVFX’s journey began in Hamilton, Ontario, with a passion for both the spotlight and the process behind the camera. 

Chelsea’s passion for video production started at a young age. “I had one of those really old flip video cameras, and I made really awful things,” she recalls. “I loved being both in front of and behind the camera.“

She went on to study film and television production at NYU, where she first began experimenting with visual effects as a creative outlet for her imaginative ideas. 

After graduating during the pandemic, Chelsea took an animation job but quickly realised she craved more opportunities for her own creative expression.

In November 2021, Chelsea started a TikTok account as a side project to practice her VFX skills.

Little did she know that this hobby was about to change her life’s trajectory. Within two years, one of her videos had surpassed a million views!

“That was the first one to go truly viral for me,” Chelsea says. “It really showed the potential for my VFX videos to take off.“

When her animation contract ended in October 2023, she decided to take the leap into full-time content creation. 

The risk paid off in a big way.

Just 6 months after becoming a full-time creator, Chelsea’s audience has skyrocketed!

“The freedom to travel and work on my own schedule has been a dream,” Chelsea said. “Not being tied to a 9-to-5 has allowed me so much more creativity.“

But getting such amazing social media stats isn’t quick and easy.

Chelsea’s videos are a labour of love. 

They require an incredible amount of skill and time. 

Most take between 10 and 40 hours to create using programs like Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Blender.

“I try to find a story in every video, even if it’s just 10 seconds long,” Chelsea explains. “Having that narrative thread is part of what makes them so engrossing.“

Looking ahead, Chelsea is dedicated to further growing her audience and developing her 3D skills. She’s also working on an online course to teach viewers how to create “impossible” visuals just like she does.
